In occasion of Al Haj and Eid Al Adha the Alumnae Affairs Office in Abu Dhabi  has organized and hosted an event on campus with cooperation with Taba Foundation entitled :

This event was a cross cultural one that reflected our Islamic culture, its purpose was to  emphasis cultural diversity in the UAE through construct a knowledge about Muslim culture  among western population at Zayed University especially Al Hajj occasion. In addition to that, this event was important to raise visibility and awareness among the students about the importance of Al Hajj to Muslims.

We were honored to have Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan Al Nahyan,wife of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Representative of Ruler in Western Region, Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority and Her Highness Sheikha Fakhra bint Saeed bin Shakbout ,wife of his highness Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and  President of Zayed University.

Also we were really delighted to have attendees from ZU and other universities, embassies ,authorizes and associations from different sectors in Abu Dhabi.

Activities in Journey of Peace Event :

• - UAE Student Union shared us a lovely recital of Islamic Ansheed named " Labaek Rabi" and "Sala Alaek Allah"
• - A documentary film about AlHajj was shown by the production of Dr Martin Lings who made his first journey to Hajj in 1948 and his second in 1976 ,in the film, Martin recollects his experience of the Hajj, along with his insights into its historical background.
• - A lecture by Sheikh Habib Ali has given to the audience entitled (Journey of Peace).
• - ZU Art and Design students and alumnae contributed with their works in the exhibition held in the event and was opened by her highness Sheikha Shamsa,their art work reflects the Arabic and Islamic culture and the fifth pillar of Islam - Al Hajj.
