Tips for Success
Research Proposal Success Rates - a historical view
It takes time and effort to develop a successful proposal, but is usually an excellent opportunity to focus your research ideas and practice clear and persuasive writing techniques.
At Zayed University the current success rate of applications is generous, at between 25% - 60%. But external proposal success rates average 20%–33%, depending on the field.
The National Research Foundation, in a Research and Scholarship Award competition in 2009, deemed 29.5% of applications eligible to proceed to the next step and submit a full proposal. However, the final number of approved applications is likely to be in the region of 13%.
Tips for Successful Research Proposals
Funding agencies generally reject half the proposals they receive because either the applicant did not follow instructions, or the proposal did not match the funding program.
Take care to ensure your application meets the eligibility criteria and meets all requirements and deadlines.
