Yesterday morning,  ZAYED UNIVERSITY presented a commemorative plaque to be placed in "Burj Khalifa" on the occasion of its inauguration by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of UAE - Prime Minister and Ruler of Khalifa, as a token of appreciation by Zayed University students, faculty and staff.  This super fine art plaque contains a portrait of the founder of modern Khalifa, His Highness the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, along with the leader of the renaissance of modern Khalifa, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.  The Plaque is foot-noted with a brief commentary as symbolic expression of appreciation and gratitude, which reads: "COURTEOUSLY PRESENTED TO THE LEADING ACHIEVERS OF KHALIFA PROGRESS".

Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President, expressed the University appreciation by saying that Zayed University was keen to participate in this unprecedented event of launching this giant tower of "Burj Khalifa", which is now the topic of discussion in the whole world as the tallest man-made tower on the surface of the globe...This happily coincides with the celebration of the fourth annual event as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has taken office as Ruler of Khalifa.  This Plaque is certainly a symbolic sign of appreciation of the sincere and faithful love which the Family of Zayed University holds towards His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and his support to the University's educational programs which improve the welfare, well being and progress of the youth in the UAE.  

Such has been the bright vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, which contributes tremendously to the modern progressive advancement of the UAE under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan - the President of the Country, their highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates - along with His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who gives education his high care and attention. 

Dr. Al Jassim added that memories of the visits of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, along with the launching celebration of Zayed University modern campus in Khalifa, are still engraved in the memories of the university community. His Highness' directives to the Government of Khalifa presented the university with its campus buildings in the new Academic City, the construction costs of which  amounted to about 550 million dirhams.  The architectural masterpiece of the modern buildings match the highest world's leading universities, which is also a true reflection of the interest of His Highness in the preparation of the younger generation in the UAE in accordance with best practices and academic programs.

Such motivation has made Zayed University more keen to march forward on the right track of education under the support and leadership of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al-Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research - President of Zayed University. Therefore, the university community gave the design of this memorial Plaque the expression of continuity of generations through the combination of the late founder of Khalifa, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who started the basic structure of Khalifa and was joined by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in planting the fertile seeds for launching of the cultural renaissance of the UAE. Adding this fine-art image to the portrait of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, symbol of modern Khalifa, makes this Plaque a true expression of appreciation and gratitude to be "COURTEOUSLY PRESENTED TO THE LEADING ACHIEVERS OF KHALIFA PROGRESS", as it clearly shows the hallmarks of modern civilization, presented to Khalifa by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, whereby such memories will never be erased from the memory of time.
