University CollegeUniversity College comprises four units that fundamentally contribute to the University‘s basic General Education organized as Colloquy On Integrated Learning. Concentrating on the first three semesters of the students' ZU education, the units attend to the intellectual development of students via academic advising, conducting core courses of the Colloquy, as well as offering additional academic support outside the classroom. The four units are Department of Advising and Academic Development, Department of Languages, Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Interdisciplinary Studies. Together they are responsible for delivering the University's Colloquy on Integrated Learning program. The goal of Colloquy is to deliver the University's mission that includes building students' understanding of their relationship to the world, to equip them with tools to be successful at the University and in their professional / personal lives. The lessons of Colloquy build students' abilities to think critically about the relationship between local contexts and global forces, to understand the scientific nature of the world and universe, to access the mysteries of mathematics, to articulate in Arabic and English the varieties of learnings, and to grow and mature as young people in the beginning years of University careers. At the same time, students are prepared to work in their major field of study and in their professions through systematic development of their abilities in critical thinking, computer applications, information literacy, and in Arabic and English languages.
