Bio

Dr. Winifred D. Scott received her Ph.D. in Accounting (Finance support) from Florida State University  Her research interests include auditing, earnings management and corporate governance.   She has authored refereed publications in the area of accounting and auditing.  She is a member of several professional societies: American Accounting Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,  etc.  She has several years of teaching experience from University of Delaware and Arizona State University in the United States of America.  She has also worked as an accountant in private industry and as an auditor in the California.  She received her California CPA license in 1990 and currently holds her CPA license from the State of Arizona. 

Dr. Scott moved to Dubai to work for Zayed University in August 2010.  She has received the 2011 Research Incentive Fund Award for her proposal entitled “Corporate Governance for the UAE Students: Comparing UAE Accounting and Regulatory Agencies to those of the USA.”
