Bio

Marc Poulin is an assistant professor of Operations Management at Zayed University since February, 2010. He completed a MBA in Manufacturing and Logistics Management in 2000 and a PhD in Sciences of Administration in 2009 at University Laval in Quebec, Canada. He has published articles on issues regarding resource planning for business networks offering customized products or services. During his graduate studies, Marc has presented his research at several international conferences and has been awarded doctorate research recognitions and funds. Marc’s current research explores the potential for personalizing business networks in the UAE as well as supply chain management in the Gulf region.

Before joining the faculty of CBS  at Zayed University, Professor Poulin was a full time business consultant since 2006. He was a senior supply chain consultant for West Monroe Partner’s office in Montreal, Canada from 2006 to mid 2008. The Chicago based consulting firm had several offices across North America which required Marc to work on supply chain projects in both the USA and Canada. Marc worked on various types of projects from operational implementations to strategic designs of manufacturing networks. The projects spread over several industries such as hardware stores, food manufacturers, aviation, garment designers and distributors, and truck transportation.  From mid 2008 to early 2010, Marc was an independent consultant for an international furniture manufacturer transforming it’s business model to become a mass customizer.
