Bio

Dr. Lawrence Tai has been Professor of Finance at Zayed University since August 2008.  He was educated in the USA, receiving his BS degree in accounting from Illinois State University, MBA degree in finance from Indiana University, and PhD degree in finance from Georgia State University.  He is also an American Certified Public Accountant. Before coming to the UAE, Dr. Tai had taught at The University of Saint Joseph in Macau (where he also served as Dean for 18 months); Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, USA; University of Southern Queensland in Australia, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (where he also served as Department Chair for four years), and California State University at Fresno, USA. Dr. Tai had delivered consulting or executive training programs to the following organizations: Dun & Bradstreet (Hong Kong), Hang Seng Bank (Hong Kong), Teledyne (Los Angeles, USA), Macau Monetary Authority (Macau), International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (Hong Kong & Macau), and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (UAE).He has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Loyola Marymount University MBA Faculty of the Year Award, American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences Outstanding Service Award and Best Paper Award, Global Business and Economics Research Conference Best Paper Award, and more than a dozen research grants. Dr. Tai is very active in esearch.
