The Graduate Certificate in Business Administration gives experienced managers access to selected graduate courses that will further enhance their ability to provide leadership in their organizations.

Graduate Certificate in Business Administration 

Orientation Seminar

At the beginning of the program, students take an intensive one-day orientation seminar. The orientation offers a number of workshops to introduce students to the program, during which students are introduced to Blackboard (virtual classroom software), case study and analysis, library resources, and the writing of reports and reference citations.

The curriculum comprises the first 4 courses of the Executive Master's in Business Administration program for a total of 12 credits for the graduate certificate.

Executive Master's in Business Administration 

Students who prefer to enrol in the full Executive Master's in Business Administration program must complete 12 courses for a total of 36 credits.

Course Delivery

Course Duration 

The program is delivered in English over a period of 9 months at Zayed University located in Abu Dhabi and/or Dubai.

Course Delivery Format

The format for delivering the program is designed to minimize time away from work and family while maximizing interaction with fellow students and faculty.

Faculty members utilize a mix of in-classroom and distance learning instruction that demonstrate the flexibility needed to accommodate experienced working graduates. The in-classroom instruction for each course is conducted every six and one-half weeks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in full day sessions. Additional off-site lectures are provided on CDs. Blackboard customized courseware, with e-mail and course management features, is used to deliver the offsite e-learning component of the curriculum. Portions of some courses involve videoconferencing. Students and faculty interact frequently to exchange e-mail, transfer files, submit papers, and access course materials in the form of PowerPoint slides during courses.

Admission

• Admission is open to males and females of all nationalities.
• Program expectations are high and require participants to balance the demands of a career, family and a graduate academic program. 
• The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with three to five years of managerial experience who has shown outstanding promise within their organization.
• Applicants must have earned a four-year baccalaureate degree with a GPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited university.
• IELTS score of 5.50 (with minimum sub scores no less than 5.0 in reading and writing) or TOEFL score of 550 (CBT 213 - IBT 79).*
• In addition, applicants must have at least three years of mid- to upper-level management experience.
• Applicants are required to have a basic knowledge of accounting, finance, economics and statistics prior to gaining entry into the program. Applicants may therefore be required to successfully complete appropriate pre-program courses at the discretion of the Admissions Committee. Students who have completed the equivalent courses at other institutions will be exempted from this requirement.

Graduation Requirement 

Graduate students must maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 in course work taken in fulfillment of the requirements of a graduate certificate.

Articulation to Executive Master's in Business Administration

Courses successfully completed with a "B" or higher grade may be transferable into an affiliated Zayed University Master's degree program; however, admission into the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration does not guarantee admission into the Executive Master's in Business Administration program. Students, if admitted, must request transfer of completed graduate certificate course credits to the Master's degree program.
