Bared GarabedianProfessor B.Sc.(Hons) Salford University, Salford, United kingdom, Biological Chemistry/ BioBared Safieh-Garabedian Joined Zayed University from the American University in Beirut, where he held the position of Professor in the Department of Biology. He obtained his PhD from Kings College, London University in 1986 and since then has been active in research and academic affairs. His main research interests are in studying the interactions between the nervous system and the immune system and the role of such bi-directional communication in inflammatory processes and pain. He also holds the title of Honorary Professor from Queen Mary, University of London. He is a member of the Society for Neuroscience and the International Association for the Study of Pain.

Concentrating on Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Immunology, Neurobiology, Physiology and Human Biology. Besides teaching; extensive experience has been garnered in designing new courses and syllabi for both undergraduate and graduate studies. Research and Professional ActivitiesCurrent research activity is directed towards understanding the role of inflammation in neurodegeneration.In particular, studies are now directed towards finding novel approaches for the treatment of Parkinson disease. |
