The internship provides professional experience for Health Sciences students in a challenging but supportive working environment selected in consultation with the department. It enables students to enhance their interpersonal skills, increase self-confidence, and apply knowledge and skills gained at Zayed University. The internship offers students an opportunity to assess the suitability of a particular career or organization.
The internships are the students’ opportunities to explore the world of work before graduating and experience the reality of work. The NSPH team together with the Career Services Department carefully search and plan for effective internship programs.
On the other hand, students are not discouraged if they are willing to implement internship programs in other organizations. In this case, the NSPH Department recommends students to look at crucial key elements to a successful internship programs.
Think about your internship program in advance and consider the workload, office space, staff support, and intern projects. You also need to consider effective supervision, both from the work placement and the department.
The internship is your opportunity to meet first hand with potential employers. Your ability to excel in the internship could potentially provide you with employment following graduation.

The Senior Project
The Senior Project is a culminating experience requiring students to synthesize and integrate knowledge acquired in their coursework and other learning experiences. They will apply theory and principles in a situation that has relevance to some aspect of health professional practice or research.
Students work individually while being mentored by faculty and take primary responsibility for identifying and defining a problem, developing a suitable approach and methods needed to address the problem, implementing the project, and presenting their findings in both oral and written forms.
