Welcome to Natural Science and Public Health Department

The Department of Natural Science and Public Health offers a wide range of courses to meet the needs of the Health Sciences major. It also provides introductory courses in the Natural and Behavioral sciences that can be taken by students in the Colloquy as well as contributing to introductory computer applications. Many courses are also available for students pursuing other majors, notably in the College of Education. A growing research and outreach program is designed to focus on national needs in the U.A.E., and faculty from the department contribute to the Executive Masters in Health Care Administration, in collaboration with the College of Business Sciences.

 

Mission

Health and well being is a central aim for most societies, along with the desire to sustain living and working environments that are safe and healthy. The mission of the Health Sciences program is to provide a high quality learning experience to nurture effective health professionals and to create opportunities for research and development that support national goals in health. 

 

Academic Program

The Health Sciences Program prepares graduates for careers in the rapidly developing U.A.E. health sector and other areas. Graduates from the program will have a strong scientific background combined with an excellent understanding of social and cultural factors impacting on health. They will be able to assume managerial and leadership roles in improving the health of U.A.E. citizens. In addition, they will have a good understanding of important global health issues.
