Li-Chen SimAssistant Professor BioLi-Chen brings to the Department both practical and academic experiences in contemporary Russian affairs. She helped to set up Singapore’s first trade office in Moscow and facilitated trade/investment links between the two countries. Since pursuing an academic career, she has focused on the inter-relationship between rational choice individualism and policy-making, particularly as it applies to the Russian oil industry and to Russian-Azerbaijani relations.

This includes the privatization of the Russian oil industry (book published in 2008); the role of oil in Russian-Azerbaijani relations; leadership and change within Russian oil companies. Currently exploring the feasibility of research on Russian-UAE relations or Singapore-UAE relations. |
