The Responsible Urbanism Research Lab is Zayed University's transdisciplinary research platform dedicated to advance knowledge in the field of ecological urbanism. It is a platform enabling researchers at Zayed University and key local and international partners to collaborate, exchange and disseminate research that advance our understanding of how to design urban environments in context.

Topics of inquiry range from healthy living, behavioral change and design for sustainability (for example design for disassembly and integrative processes including renewable energy). It is understood that a better integration of natural and human systems contribute to healthy cities. In order to reach an urbanism that is eco-logic, citizens also need to take on their responsibility and act collectively.
