Zayed Institute for Professional Education
:: Mission
Zayed Professional Education Center’s mission is to assist educational practitioners and researchers to develop their practice so that they may, by example, participate in the reform and modernization of the educational system. The Center provides programs and consultancies and conducts research to accomplish this goal.
Our mission is accomplished by:
- sharing with educational practitioners and leaders the excitement of personal and professional improvement through critical reflection, problem solving and creative thinking;
- providing opportunities for educators to engage in worthwhile and meaningful professional development activities customized to their own needs;
- fostering and maintaining a strong and productive partnership with educational institutions for the improvement of education;
- conducting research that is relevant to K-16 and that informs current practice.
:: Professional Development Programs Policies
- The times and locations of programs of professional development may be negotiated with the client.
- A client is an entity acting on behalf of a group of people, for example, the Ministry of Higher Education, higher educational institution, the Ministry of Education, adult development institution, a private or government business enterprise, an Education Council, an Educational Zone, a public school, or a private school.
- Zayed Professional Educational Center is a non-profit organization. Financial support from the public and the private sectors and nominal fees cover the cost of the professional development programs.
- Professional development sessions can be delivered at Zayed University or at locations convenient for the participants.
- A certificate of completion is issued to all participants who have successfully completed a program of professional development.
- Programs of professional development may also be delivered in Arabic.
- Participants in credit-bearing professional development courses should meet the Zayed University admission criteria for graduate programs.
