Faouzi Bouslama received the BS degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tunis, Ecole Nationale d’Ingenieurs de Tunis-ENIT in 1984, the MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Ibaraki University, Faculty of Engineering, Hitachi, Japan, in 1989, and his Ph.D. degree in 1992. From 1984 to 1985 he was a Geophysical Engineer at the Schlumberger Oil Service Company in Indonesia. In 1985, he joined the Societe d’Electricite et du Gaz-Tunis, Tunisia. From 1992 to 1994, he was a Researcher at Toshiba Corporation, Power Control Computer Systems Department, Tokyo, Japan. From 1994 to 2000, he was an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Hiroshima City University, Hiroshima, Japan. His research interests include system modeling and control, soft-computing techniques (fuzzy logic, neural networks), and Arabic optical character recognition systems. Dr. Bouslama has over thirty journal and conference publications in the areas of his research. He has directed many BS and MS projects and some Ph.D. projects, and has close ties with research institutions in Japan, France and Tunisia. Dr. Bouslama joined the ZU College of Information Systems in the Spring of 2002. |
